Product Information
Sodium 4-methoxybenzene-1-sulfinate (SMB) is a functional group that can be used as a reagent in organic synthesis. It has been shown to react with amines, hydroxyl groups, and nitroarenes. SMB inhibits the tyrosine kinase enzyme, which is involved in the process of insulin signaling. SMB also has antidiabetic properties by inhibiting the activity of tyrosine kinase enzymes. The mechanism of this drug is similar to that of other tyrosine kinase inhibitors such as dasatinib and ibrutinib. It reacts with an amino acid residue on the protein's surface, which prevents it from binding to ATP or other molecules necessary for the function of the enzyme. This prevents the growth and division of cells, leading to cell death.
