Tri-i-propylphosphine is a chemical compound that is insoluble in water. It reacts with ethyl diazoacetate to form an insoluble polymer. Tri-i-propylphosphine has been used as a catalyst for the synthesis of polymers using trifluoroacetic acid and cationic polymerization. Tri-i-propylphosphine can also be used for asymmetric synthesis, such as the preparation of carbonyl compounds. It is also involved in transfer reactions and organometallic chemistry. The structure of tri-i-propylphosphine can be determined by analyzing its nmr spectra.
