Description:
4-Methoxy-4'-nitrochalcone is a natural compound that has been shown to inhibit the activity of oxidases. The reactivity of this molecule was determined using molecular modelling, which showed that it is monosubstituted with reactive functional groups. The inhibitory activity of 4-methoxy-4'-nitrochalcone was evaluated in cell culture assays and found to be potent and selective in inhibiting the activity of various oxidases. 4-Methoxy-4'-nitrochalcone has also been shown to have inhibitory effects on function chalcones, including quercetin, kaempferol and myricetin.
