Description:

N-tert-Butylmethacrylamide is a reactive monomer that can be used to create polymers with a wide range of properties. It undergoes electrophilic substitution reactions and forms strong hydrogen bonds with other molecules. N-tert-Butylmethacrylamide has been shown to be reactive towards S. aureus, which can lead to the formation of chlorinated derivatives. These derivatives are more stable and less toxic than the parent molecule and may be used as antibacterial agents in devices such as catheters or other medical equipment. N-tert-Butylmethacrylamide also has the ability to form amide groups that are resistant to peroxide degradation, which may make it useful for applications such as coatings for plastic pipes, food packaging, and medical devices.
