Product Information
- Benzonitrile, 2,6-Dibromo-
2,6-Dibromobenzonitrile is an active substance that is used as a nutrient and biocide in weed science. It is also used for the treatment of impregnating and synthetic materials. 2,6-Dibromobenzonitrile inhibits the growth of weeds by interfering with the photosynthesis process and blocking the synthesis of chlorophyll. This substance has been shown to be phytotoxic to plants at concentrations higher than 0.2%. 2,6-Dibromobenzonitrile was found to be a competitive antagonist of benzonitrile at pharmacophore sites in plant tissues.
