Product Information
1,2-Dimethylquinolin-4(1H)-one is a natural product that can be found in the plant Glycosmis citrifolia. It has been shown to react with electrophiles such as lithium and lithium diisopropylamide to form glycosmidin A. This compound is used in the treatment of sarcomelicope and diisopropylamide. The synthesis of glycosmidin A from 1,2-dimethylquinolin-4(1H)-one was achieved by reacting it with lithium and lithium diisopropylamide in refluxing methanol. The reaction was monitored by thin layer chromatography (TLC) using an ethyl acetate/methanol mobile phase system.
