Product Information
- (4-Bromo-phenoxy)-acetic acid ethyl ester
- Acetic Acid, 2-(4-Bromophenoxy)-, Ethyl Ester
Ethyl (4-bromophenoxy)acetate is a bromodomain inhibitor that has been shown to disrupt the stability of the DNA-protein complex by denaturing the protein and reducing its affinity for the bromodomain. This destabilizes cancer cells, leading to cell death. Ethyl (4-bromophenoxy)acetate also inhibits metabolic enzymes, such as cytochrome P450s, which are responsible for metabolizing drugs and other foreign compounds in the body. It has been shown to be effective against drug resistant cancer cells and can be used as an anti-cancer agent. In addition, this compound is metabolized through nucleophilic pathways, so it may be useful in pharmacokinetic studies.
