1H,1'H-2,2'-Bibenzo[D]imidazole is a luminescent compound that has a crystallographic structure. It can be found in micelles with stepwise solvation. The anions and oxidation products of 1H,1'H-2,2'-bibenzo[D]imidazole are counterions and carboxylates respectively. The supramolecular interactions of 1H,1'H-2,2'-bibenzo[D]imidazole are mediated by the electron transfer between chromophores and the mononuclear complexes. The electron transfer is driven by the interaction of the dihaloalkanes and electrons with the chromophore.
