Product Information
Altenusin is a cox-2 inhibitory compound that has been shown to have anti-infective properties. It inhibits the activity of enzymes, such as cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2) and acetylcholinesterase, which are involved in inflammation. Altenusin can be used for the treatment of congenital heart disease due to its ability to reduce serum aminotransferase levels. The skeleton structure of this molecule is biphenyl with an ionization technique at m/z 314.5, which can be detected in LC-MS/MS methods. In vitro antifungal activity has been observed with altenusin against Candida albicans and Aspergillus niger.
