Description:
1,2-Dihydro-7-nitro-3H-indazol-3-one is a tautomeric compound that has been shown to exist in equilibrium between the keto and enol forms. The keto form predominates at acidic pH and the enol form predominates at alkaline pH. 1,2-Dihydro-7-nitro-3H-indazol-3-one can be converted to its tautomer by irradiation with x rays. The structure of this compound is polymorphic; it exists as two different crystalline structures: one stable below -25°C and one stable above 0°C.
