Product Information
- cis-3-Iodoacrylic acid ethyl ester
- ethyl (2E)-3-iodoprop-2-enoate
- ethyl (2Z)-3-iodoprop-2-enoate
Ethyl cis-3-Iodoacrylate (stabilized with Copper chip) is a monomer that can be used to synthesize polymers, such as poly(ethylene glycol). It is obtained by the palladium-catalyzed coupling of 3-iodoacrylic acid and ethyl bromide. The diastereomeric mixture of cis-3-iodoacrylate can also be used to produce monoclonal antibodies. The synthesis of this compound is an efficient method for producing products. This product has cytostatic effects on cancer cells and viruses, which may be due to its ability to inhibit DNA synthesis or crosslink DNA strands.
