(Z)-Hexadec-11-en-1-ol is a fatty acid that has been shown to have an inhibitory effect on neuron cells. The biosynthesis of (Z)-hexadec-11-en-1-ol in wheat germ has also been studied using spectrometry analyses. Wheat germ contains a high concentration of linoleic acid, which is converted into (Z)-hexadec-11-en-1-ol by enzymes.
