1-Benzyloxy-4-bromo-2-chlorobenzene is a ketone with the chemical formula C8H7BrO. It is a stereospecific and estrogenic compound. Symptoms of exposure to this ketone are reported to include headache, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, convulsions, and coma. 1-Benzyloxy-4-bromo-2-chlorobenzene has been shown to produce estrogens when dehydrated in the presence of calcium chloride. This compound also causes the production of phenolic compounds during dehydration. The carcinogenic potential of this ketone is not known.
