Product Information
4-Methyl-3H,4H,5H,6H,7H-imidazo[4,5-c]pyridine is a compound that can be found in human urine. It was first discovered in the urine of rats with chronic pain. 4-Methyl-3H,4H,5H,6H,7H-imidazo[4,5-c]pyridine has been shown to have antiinflammatory properties and prevents the production of inflammatory mediators such as prostaglandins and leukotrienes. In addition to this compound's antiinflammatory effects on humans with chronic pain problems (e.g., low back pain), it also stabilizes the cell membrane and inhibits acetaldehyde production by preventing the conversion of glucose into acetaldehyde by inhibiting an enzyme called alcohol dehydrogenase.
