Product Information
- Pyridine, 3-(methoxymethoxy)-
3-(Methoxymethoxy)pyridine is a heterocyclic compound that is an analog of acetaldehyde. It has been shown to be cytotoxic to filamentous fungi. 3-(Methoxymethoxy)pyridine can be synthesized by reacting aryllithiums with pyridines in the presence of ketones or esters. This compound has also been used as an antibiotic and has antimycin activity. 3-(Methoxymethoxy)pyridine's intramolecular carbolithiation reaction is an example of intramolecular reactions, which are chemical reactions that occur within a molecule instead of between molecules.
