(−)-MDO-NPA hydrochloride is a chemical that has been used in animal studies to evaluate the effects of aporphine alkaloids. It has been shown to have a long-acting effect and can be administered orally or by injection. The drug is lipophilic and, therefore, accumulates in fatty tissues. (−)-MDO-NPA hydrochloride can be detected in plasma concentrations for up to 12 hours after administration. It is stable under chromatographic conditions and can be analyzed using a gas chromatography method with chemical ionization detection. This compound is one of the more potent aporphine alkaloids and has been shown to increase locomotor activity in animals.
