8(Z),11(Z),14(Z)-Eicosatrienoic-8,9,11,12,14,15-d6 acid is a fatty acid that is synthesized from arachidonic acid by the enzyme delta-5-desaturase. It is a polyunsaturated fatty acid and has been shown to have inhibitory effects on polymerase chain reaction (PCR) and body mass index in rats. 8(Z),11(Z),14(Z)-Eicosatrienoic-8,9,11,12,14,15-d6 acid also inhibits the production of nitric oxide and prostaglandin E2 in cultured human liver cells. This lipid can be found in the human liver and may play a role in cancer.
