Product Information
2-Amino-1H-indole-3-carbonitrile is a nucleoside analog used as a precursor for the synthesis of other biologically active compounds. 2-Amino-1H-indole-3-carbonitrile has been shown to be capable of forming hydrogen bonds with nucleic acid bases, which can lead to changes in conformation and chain length. This leads to changes in the spectra of these compounds, allowing them to be identified.
2AICC is prepared from indolium salt and carbon tetrachloride by reaction with ammonia gas. The reaction takes place in an ice bath with stirring and produces a white solid that can be purified by recrystallization or column chromatography.
