Bis(4-isopropyl-4,5-dihydrooxazol-2-yl)methane is a chiral ligand that can be used in the preparation of racemic products. It is soluble in organic solvents and forms stable complexes with metal ions. Bis(4-isopropyl-4,5-dihydrooxazol-2-yl)methane has been shown to react with chlorides to form bis(chloromethyl)ethers and has been used for the preparation of amides by transamination.
