ZM223 is a potent and selective covalent inhibitor of ubiquitin ligases. It has shown potent antitumor activity in various animal tumor models, including pleural mesothelioma, and inhibits the growth of cancer cells. ZM223 inhibits the activation of signal proteins by ubiquitin ligases and prevents the formation of new protein complexes. ZM223 also has anticancer activities that are independent of its inhibitory effects on ubiquitin ligases. These anticancer activities may be due to its ability to inhibit cellular proliferation and promote apoptosis in cancer cells.
