Description:
1-Boc-3-phenylazetidine is a marine compound that has been shown to have antitumor properties in vitro. It has been shown to inhibit the growth of human colon cancer cells, hct116, by inhibiting the cell cycle at G2/M phase. 1-Boc-3-phenylazetidine is an analogue of phenylethyl and has been found to be more potent than its parent compound. It is also effective against a xenograft model in mice. The effectiveness of 1-Boc-3-phenylazetidine on different tumor types is still being studied.
