Product Information
2-Mercaptopyrimidine-5-carbaldehyde is a small molecule that interacts with sulfide and produces gene regulation. It has antiviral activity against the tobacco mosaic virus and other plant viruses. It binds to the polymerase chain reaction (PCR) enzyme and inhibits its activity, thereby preventing the replication of viral DNA. 2-Mercaptopyrimidine-5-carbaldehyde has been shown to be effective in suppressing tumor growth in vivo. This drug targets nicotiana leaves, inhibiting the production of polyphenols in plants.
