Rivenprost is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug that binds to the periosteum, which is the outer layer of tissue around the bone. Fatty acid metabolites form a complex with rivenprost and can reduce inflammation by inhibiting prostaglandin synthesis. Rivenprost may also have an effect on bone growth because it stimulates collagen production in cells.
