Product Information
2-tert-Butyl-4-iodo-phenylamine is a sodium carbonate phase transfer catalyst. It reacts with tetrabutyl ammonium chloride in the presence of palladium to yield an epoxy compound. This reaction is catalyzed by sodium bicarbonate and tert-butyl hydroperoxide, which convert the iodide ion to the free radical I. The free radical then reacts with the epoxide to form an epoxy compound:
This phase transfer catalyst is used in polyurethane extenders for coatings, adhesives, and sealants.
