3-Methyl-5-(5-methylisoxazol-3-yl)isoxazole-4-carbonyl chloride is an antioxidant that scavenges free radicals and prevents polymer degradation. It is a methacrylate copolymer that has antiaging properties and can be used as a coating for metals to prevent oxidation. The copolymer consists of three major components: ethylene, methacrylate, and ethylene oxide. The copolymer has been shown to have antioxidant effects on cadmium in vitro, inhibiting the oxidation of this metal.
