Product Information
(S)-3-Amino-4-(2-methylphenyl)butanoic acid hydrochloride is an analog of the natural amino acid, leucine. It has a hydroxyl group on its amide instead of an amino group, making it a peptidyl analogue. This compound has been shown to inhibit bacterial ribonucleotide reductase and gtpase activity in vitro. The enzyme binding site of (S)-3-Amino-4-(2-methylphenyl)butanoic acid hydrochloride is between the acceptor and the ternary complex. This compound also inhibits biosynthesis of deoxyadenosine monophosphate from adenosine monophosphate by competing with ATP for binding to the enzyme adenylate kinase.
