Product Information
SB 747651A dihydrochloride is a small molecule that inhibits the response element-binding protein (RBP) and thus prevents activation of transcription factors. It has been shown to reduce intestinal inflammation in mice by inhibiting the release of inflammatory mediators. SB 747651A dihydrochloride also inhibits the production of cyclic AMP, which may be responsible for its anti-inflammatory properties. This drug is able to inhibit the proliferation of intestinal tissue cells, but not pancreatic cells, suggesting it may be effective in treating patients with ulcerative colitis or Crohn's disease.
