Description:

3-Hydroxycyclohexanecarboxylic Acid is a chiral, synthesized organic compound. It is used as a precursor to medicines and has been shown to be effective in inhibiting plasmin activity through the formation of an aluminium complex. 3-Hydroxycyclohexanecarboxylic Acid is also used for the production of chromatographic columns, sensors, and aluminium oxide. It can be purified by crystallization or by using a formylation reaction with benzyl chloride. 3-Hydroxycyclohexanecarboxylic Acid has acidic properties at high pH and forms an aluminium complex with the cavity of an aluminium oxide sensor. The efficiency of this compound is related to its chirality, which can be determined by gas chromatography.
