Product Information
Dimethachlor-deschloro is a synthetic antibiotic that inhibits the growth of bacteria by binding to the 50S ribosomal subunit. The drug is active against a wide range of microorganisms including fungi, viruses, and parasites. Dimethachlor-deschloro has been shown to be effective against Micrococcus luteus, Candida albicans, Herpes simplex virus type 1, and Plasmodium falciparum. It is also used in chemotherapy for cancer treatment. It binds to the 50S ribosomal subunit and inhibits protein synthesis by preventing the formation of an enzyme-inhibitor complex with the enzyme cell wall synthesis required for cell wall biosynthesis and cellular division.
