Product Information
4-Methoxybenzofuran-3(2H)-one is a potent compound that inhibits the activity of kinases, which are enzymes that regulate the transfer of phosphate groups. It has been shown to inhibit apoptosis in pancreatic β cells and cell death induced by various stimuli. 4-Methoxybenzofuran-3(2H)-one selectively inhibits certain kinases, such as protein kinase B (PKB), without affecting other pathways such as the insulin signaling pathway. This molecule also induces apoptosis in human cancer cells, including breast cancer and leukemia cells, at low concentrations.
