4-[(1E)-2-(4-Aminophenyl)ethenyl]aniline is a fluorescent compound that is used as a probe in clinical pathology to assess ATP-sensitive potassium channels. It can be used in vitro to study the effects of anilino compounds on ATP-sensitive potassium channels. 4-[(1E)-2-(4-Aminophenyl)ethenyl]aniline has been shown to be effective in biological treatment and has chemical stability, which makes it suitable for use in microcapsules. This compound is stable at pH levels up to 11 and has a hydroxyl group, which makes it more soluble than other anilino compounds. 4-[(1E)-2-(4-Aminophenyl)ethenyl]aniline can be used as a marker of body mass index (BMI).
