Tris(4-chlorophenyl) borate is an aromatic hydrocarbon that has a crystalline structure. It is used as an additive in the production of inks, adhesives, and gasoline. Tris(4-chlorophenyl) borate also has platelet activation properties and can be used to stain blood cells for microscopy. Tris(4-chlorophenyl) borate reacts with fluorine to form trifluoroborates. Tris(4-chlorophenyl) borate is also used as a catalyst in electrophotography techniques and can be used as a sensor to detect acidic compounds or heterocycles.
