Product Information
3-(Butylsulfamoyl)benzoic acid is a chiral molecule that can be used as a starting material for the synthesis of amino acid derivatives. It reacts with carboxylic acids to form linear esters and sulfonates, which are useful building blocks for the synthesis of functionalized carboxylic acids. 3-(Butylsulfamoyl)benzoic acid has been shown to react with water molecules in an enantioselective fashion, forming hydrogen bonds with two water molecules on opposite sides of the molecule. This is due to its ability to form a hydrogen bond network in the water solvent by donating hydrogen bonds from its sulfur atom and two hydroxyl groups.
