Description:

Dysprosium is a rare earth metal that belongs to group P2 on the periodic table. It has been shown to have high thermal expansion, which is useful for making precision optical components. Dysprosium has also been observed to emit light that is detectable by a spectrometer. The emission spectrum of dysprosium can be changed by chemical reactions or by adding other elements such as gallium. Dysprosium can be used in organic solution polymerization, and has been shown to inhibit the growth of metastatic colorectal cancer cells through the activation of epidermal growth factor receptors.
