1,2,5-Trimethylpiperidin-4-one is an active substance that belongs to the class of benzofuran derivatives. It has been shown to be a potent inhibitor of the enzyme oxalate oxidase and has been used in the synthesis of analogs. The tautomeric form of 1,2,5-trimethylpiperidin-4-one is its enol form with an oxime group on the alpha carbon atom. This molecule can react with ethyl bromoacetate in a condensation reaction to produce an amide derivative.
