Description:

Methyl 3-(4-formylphenyl)acrylate (MFPA) is a small molecule that can be used for modelling purposes. It has been shown to inhibit the activity of histone deacetylases (HDAC) and to increase the activity of chromatin-modifying enzymes, such as HATs and HDACs. MFPA also inhibits cell growth in culture by affecting cellular metabolism and DNA synthesis. This drug may be useful for treating cancers with mutations in genes encoding for histones or other proteins involved in DNA replication.
