Description:

Bismuth oxyiodide is a photocatalyst that has been shown to have peroxidase-like activity, which enables it to break down organic molecules. It also has high surface area and can be used for wastewater treatment. Bismuth oxyiodide has a high phase transition temperature, which allows it to work in both low and high temperatures. The photocurrent generated by bismuth oxyiodide can be up to six orders of magnitude higher than that generated by titanium dioxide. The FTIR spectroscopy and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy of bismuth oxyiodide show that the material has an excellent semiconductor property and is stable in water.
