Bismuth(III) Iodide Anhydrous is a chemical compound of bismuth and iodine. It has a light emission spectrum with an absorption maximum at 554 nm, which is sensitive to radiation. The detection sensitivity of Bismuth(III) Iodide Anhydrous is high in the range of 10-5 to 10-6 mol/L. Bismuth(III) Iodide Anhydrous can be used as a buffer and stabilizer for sodium citrate. It has been shown to have biological properties, such as antimicrobial activity against Gram-positive bacteria and yeast. The structural analysis of Bismuth(III) Iodide Anhydrous shows that it contains three molecules; two iodine atoms and one bismuth atom, which are connected by two hydrogen bonds in a trigonal bipyramid structure.
