Product Information
BTdCPU is a small-molecule compound that inhibits protein synthesis by binding to the polysomes and inhibiting the formation of ternary complexes required for translation. BTdCPU has been shown to inhibit cancer cell growth and induce apoptosis in human breast, prostate, lung, and pancreatic cancer cells. BTdCPU also reduces insulin resistance in diabetic mice by reducing cellular levels of phosphorylated protein kinase B (PKB/Akt) and glycogen synthase kinase 3β (GSK3β). In addition, BTdCPU has been shown to reduce cardiac hypertrophy in rats by suppressing the expression of genes involved in heart disease.
