Product Information
Phenyl 2-fluoro-5-nitrobenzoate is a fluorescent molecule that can be used to visualize and detect the presence of polysulfides in cells. It can be used as an endogenous probe or as a fluorescent probe, depending on the experimental setup. Phenyl 2-fluoro-5-nitrobenzoate binds to free thiols in cells and is oxidized by reactive oxygen species. This oxidation leads to fluorescence emission at 530 nm. In vivo imaging studies have shown that phenyl 2-fluoro-5-nitrobenzoate can be used to visualize the distribution of polysulfides in living cells.
