3-(6-Methyl-4,8-dioxo-1,3,6,2-dioxazaborocan-2)ylbenzoic acid is a cytotoxic macrocyclic compound with a boron and nitro substituent. It has been shown to be an effective chemotherapeutic agent against lung cancer and leukemia cell lines. 3-(6-Methyl-4,8-dioxo-1,3,6,2-dioxazaborocan)ylbenzoic acid also inhibits the growth of glioblastoma and lung cancer cells. This drug can be synthesized by the Suzuki coupling reaction between methyl 4-(methoxycarbonyl)phenylboronic acid and 5-(chloromethyl)-2-methylthiophene.
