Product Information
- Phosphoricacid, tri(methyl-d3) ester (8CI)
Trimethyl phosphate-d9 is a trimethyl phosphate molecule with a deuterium (d) isotope. It has been used for the investigation of the biological treatment of wastewater containing organic acids and other contaminants. Trimethyl phosphate-d9 reacts with an acid catalyst to form phosphoric acid, which is then converted to water and CO2 by bacteria. The reaction monitoring can be performed using an acid catalyst and a quadrupole mass spectrometer, which detects the molecular weight of trimethyl phosphate-d9 by measuring its quadrupole moment. Trimethyl phosphate-d9 also has hydrophobic properties due to its large hydrocarbon chain. The functional theory provides a description of how trimethyl phosphate-d9 interacts with other molecules in solution.
