Description:
1-(Piperidin-4-ylmethyl)piperidine is a prokinetic agent that has been shown to increase gastrointestinal motility. It increases the frequency and amplitude of contractions in the stomach and small intestine, which can improve nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, constipation, and diarrhea. It also has affinity for 5-HT4 receptors in the colonic tract. This drug may be used to treat irritable bowel syndrome with constipation or chronic idiopathic constipation.
