Product Information
N-(2-Mercaptoethyl)guanidine dihydrobromide is a potent and selective activator of the GABA receptor. It binds to the ligand binding domain of the receptor, which is located on the extracellular surface of the membrane, and activates it by increasing chloride ion conductance. This drug can be used as a research tool for studying cell biology or as an inhibitor in pharmacology. N-(2-Mercaptoethyl)guanidine dihydrobromide has been shown to have no effect on other receptors, such as NMDA or AMPA receptors, and has been shown to be non-toxic to cells at high concentrations.
