Product Information

Name:
Bis(acetonitrile)(1,5-cyclooctadiene)rhodium(I)tetrafluoroborate
Description:

Bis(acetonitrile)(1,5-cyclooctadiene)rhodium(I)tetrafluoroborate is a catalyst that is used in hydrogenation reactions. It can be used for the synthesis of β-unsaturated ketones and secondary alcohols from primary alcohols and boronic acids. Bis(acetonitrile)(1,5-cyclooctadiene)rhodium(I)tetrafluoroborate is also used as a catalyst in asymmetric syntheses of chiral compounds with an alkyl substituent. The reaction solution was found to be acidic and could not be neutralized with basic solutions. This compound has been shown to reduce hydrogen fluoride to hydrogen gas at room temperature and pressure.
