Product Information
- Benzoic acid, 2-amino-6-nitro-, methyl ester
Methyl 2-amino-6-nitrobenzoate is an anticancer drug that inhibits the activity of DNA methyltransferase, a key enzyme involved in the process of DNA methylation. This drug also has anticancer activity and can be used for the treatment of cancer. Methyl 2-amino-6-nitrobenzoate is a metabolite of phloroglucinol, which is an antimitotic agent. Methyl 2-amino-6-nitrobenzoate prevents demethylation by acting as a competitive inhibitor against the enzyme that catalyzes this reaction, thereby preventing DNA methylation.
