Product Information
N,N'-Dihydroxypyromellitic diimide is an oxidation product of pyromellitic dianhydride, which is a polycarboxylic acid. It has been shown to be reactive with hydrochloric acid and ethylidene chloride in the presence of water. This reaction product is soluble in organic solvents, such as ethers, chloroform, or acetone. The addition of ester linkages to the molecules increases their reactivity and ability to dissolve in organic solvents. N,N'-Dihydroxypyromellitic diimide can be used as a catalyst for the synthesis of alkene-containing compounds and diacetates. Immobilization on a solid support makes it possible to recover this compound from solution by extraction with an organic solvent after use.>>END>>
