Product Information
4-Methylbenzoxazole is a pharmacophore that interacts with the active site of 5-HT3 receptors. It is an activated diagnostic agent, peptidomimetic, and optical imaging agent. 4-Methylbenzoxazole has been shown to be a boronic acid inhibitor of 5-HT3 receptor activation and its binding to the amide group in the active site increases affinity for the receptor. 4-Methylbenzoxazole also has alkylation properties which can inhibit cancer cell proliferation by inhibiting protein synthesis. The physicochemical properties of this molecule have been well characterized, including molecular weight, log P, and solubility. This compound also has a good profile as it is resistant to metabolism by CYP450 enzymes, does not cause hepatotoxicity or nephrotoxicity at therapeutic doses, and does not affect serum glucose levels. The pharmacokinetics of 4-methylbenzoxazole have been studied in
