Enazadrem is a lipoxygenase inhibitor that has been shown to be effective in inhibiting the production of prostaglandin E2. It also has been shown to modulate the release of arachidonic acid and inhibit the release of leukotrienes, thereby reducing inflammation. Enazadrem is used as a pharmaceutical preparation for the treatment of nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, such as ibuprofen, diclofenac, and indomethacin. The drug may also be used for other medical conditions where inflammation is present. It can be administered orally or by injection.
