Description:
4-Hydrazino-5H-pyrimido[5,4-b]indole (4HPP) is a piperidine derivative. It is an elemental, hydrazine, and phosphorus oxychloride that can be used to synthesize hydrazones, which are important for the production of pharmaceuticals. 4HPP has been shown to have antibiotic properties against bacteria such as methicillin resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA), Clostridium perfringens, Mycobacterium tuberculosis, and Mycobacterium avium complex. 4HPP also inhibits bacterial growth by interfering with RNA synthesis and protein synthesis.
